Will local people be involved?

The holidays are set up in collaboration with local organizations and with the aim of involving the community in any on-going work. We have volunteers joining directly from their schools with the principle of participation in order to be learning and meeting new people.

Where will I be staying?

Detailed descriptions of the accommodations appear in the general information and further details will be sent with your confirmation letter. If you want other accommodations than the ones suggested by us, a supplement will be added for upgrade and transport.

What about food? I'm a vegetarian!

Unless otherwise indicated, these holidays are self-catered by each group and everyone is expected to help prepare the food. We do try to make our partner organizations aware of any participants requiring special diets. So please notify Maurisun in advance of your diet specifications.

How much work will I be doing?

This varies from project to project, but you should be prepared to commit yourself for an average of about 30 hours per week. Evenings are free; with at least one day off per week, thus giving you time to explore the surrounding area.

Short trips like weekend conservation trips may contain 6 to 8 hours of work per day, depending on the task at hand.

Oftentimes, we will arrange the tasks or inform you about the work needing to be done.
